Senior Mechanical Designer/Engineer

The Opportunity\n\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering innovative low-carbon and decarbonisation projects across the UK.\n\nWorking on projects including heat pump installations, energy centres, plantroom upgrades and net-zero retrofit programmes, you will play a key role in designing and developing sustainable mechanical building services solutions from concept through to commissioning.\n\nThis position would suit an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking to work on technically challenging projects that contribute to the UK's decarbonisation agenda.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nProduce feasibility studies and concept designs.\nDevelop detailed mechanical building services designs.\nCarry out system sizing, equipment selection and technical calculations.\nDesign heating, ventilation and domestic water systems.\nSupport heat pump and low-carbon energy projects.\nDevelop plantroom and energy centre layouts.\nProduce technical specifications and works information.\nSupport project delivery from concept through commissioning.\nAttend client meetings, design reviews and technical workshops.\nLiaise with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.\nEnsure compliance with industry standards and regulations.\n\nRequirements\n\nProven mechanical design experience within building services, M&E or energy projects.\nStrong knowledge of heating, ventilation and domestic water systems.\nExperience with heat pumps and decarbonisation projects.\nUnderstanding of plantroom and energy centre design.\nKnowledge of pumps, PHEs, valves, pressurisation units and associated equipment.\nExperience producing technical calculations and specifications.\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills.\nEligible for Enhanced DBS clearance.\nMinimum 5 years continuous UK residency.\n\nWhat's on Offer?\n\nMajor low-carbon and net-zero projects.\nExposure to heat pumps and energy infrastructure schemes.\nCareer progression opportunities.\nCompetitive salary and benefits package.\nLong-term project pipeline and technical development.Apply now for a confidential discussion.\n\nRG Setsquare is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
