Overview and Opportunity

We are working with one of our long-standing clients in their search for a Real Estate Investment Advisory Director to join their senior leadership team.

Job description

This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing a diverse international property portfolio, driving investment performance, and identifying new opportunities for growth across global markets.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in shaping and executing real estate investment strategy, managing assets through their full lifecycle, and ensuring portfolio performance is optimised through proactive asset management and value-creation initiatives.

You will lead the strategic management of a varied real estate portfolio, overseeing acquisitions, disposals, asset performance, operational efficiency, and long-term investment planning.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Source, evaluate, underwrite, and present new real estate investment opportunities for investment committee approval.
  • Lead asset management activities across an international property portfolio, ensuring performance optimisation and value creation.
  • Oversee property management, facilities management, and major capital works projects.
  • Manage external consultants, surveyors, project managers, and professional advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with planning, zoning, legal, regulatory, and operational requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Monitor asset-level income, expenditure, cash flow, budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Oversee annual accounts, tax returns, VAT returns, and other fiscal obligations.
  • Support acquisitions, disposals, financial modelling, investment analysis, and underwriting activities.
  • Manage complex lease structures, ownership vehicles, and cross-border regulatory frameworks.
  • Liaise with legal counsel to ensure contractual obligations and risk management requirements are met.
  • Build and maintain relationships with asset managers, joint venture partners, lenders, investors, and key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to investor reporting, board presentations, and strategic portfolio reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with finance, legal, operations, and other internal teams to deliver investment objectives.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Significant commercial real estate asset management experience, including international markets.
  • Proven ability to manage assets across multiple disciplines without reliance on a single specialist function.
  • Strong knowledge of international planning, legal, regulatory, and compliance frameworks affecting real estate investments.
  • Experience managing both in-house and third-party asset management structures.
  • Strong financial acumen, including reviewing and challenging asset-level financial models.
  • Ability to operate effectively across different cultures, legal systems, and business environments.

Benefits:

  • 25 days annual leave, plus all UK bank holidays
  • 5% employer pension contributions
  • Private medical and dental insurance
  • Discounted gym membership
  • Potential yearly bonus
